We are a small rural village school, about 5 miles from Bicester. We promote a Christian ethos of happy , fulfilling creativity and believe that everyone has an important part to play in our school and village community.
We are celebrating the fact that everyone has a talent , however small and helping all children to discover what that talent is . We have been looking at the different types of talents there are and how they can be used to create a better world. Our aim for Shine week is to encourage all members of the school community to be proud of their talents and to use them to enhance our school environment . On Tuesday, we have our Shine assembly, to introduce the week and all through the week different children will `show and tell' about their talents at assembly time .Each class has created a Shine display, to show tthe rest of us what they are most proud of. Class 3's is based on the illustrations of Nick Sharratt in Jaqueline Wilson's books - each child has decorated their initial with their particular talent and they have composed a Shine song during Literacy and Music lessons, which the whole school will sing in assemblies this week. Class 2 have also made pictures and written prayers celebrating their talents. Class 1 have written their own books about the Bible story of Creation and are celebrating the glories of the natural world of which they are such an important part .
