Chiddingly School is situated between Uckfield and Eastbourne, it serves a rural village with a mixed population largely from professional and farming contexts.
The school is a purpose built, single storey building situated in beautiful grounds and surroundings. The main building was completed in 1906, providing an established character setting for learning. Through local and national funding the school has been fortunate to have new community sports facilities including a sports hall, tennis courts, and sports field. It caters for boys and girls aged 4 to 11 and is Local Authority maintained.
There are four large classrooms, a dining hall and a large well-stocked central library. The children are divided into seven year groups, with three of the four classes being comprised of two age bands. There is a separate Reception Class. The roll is usually between 70 and 95.
