What was the most valuable lesson you learnt from your school days?
Accept everyone even if they seem different to you. I came over from Nigeria at 13 and had a different accent and dress sense yet I was accepted whole heartedly.

When you were at school did you know what you wanted to do for a career?
Yes, being Nigerian – your parents always told you what you wanted to be! A doctor, lawyer or accountant. Iopted for the law.

What were you doing before your talent became your job?
Not sure I’ve got talent now... I've worked as project manager or co-ordinator for various private and public sector companies.

How did you get your break?
I was very fortunate to meet my mentor who is a property developer and was willing to trust me as he saw something in me.

Why do you think it's important to support young people's talents?
Because young people are the future, and they can improve anything the last generation creates or invents.

Who in your life has helped you to Shine?
I would have to say my fiancé. He allows me to take a leading role and follow my path.

What other talents do you have?
None that I am aware of! Just joking. I'm a very good public speaker and enjoying talking to other women to help them follow their dreams.

How do you think schools can help young people to develop their ideas and have the confidence to take them forward?
By encouraging entrepreneurship in young people whilst still encouraging them to ensure they also pass exams.

What do you think about the Shine festival of talent? Is it something you would have engaged with if it was available while you were at school?
Yes I would have, as I have always had an inquisitive nature and wanted to explore anything that will allow me to learn soemthing new.

What advice would you give to young people taking part in Shine?
Try it, don’t’be afraid to fail or lose, just go for it and enjoy the experience, meet new people and grow from it.
