Local band 'Pearl Rabbit' includes Wilsthorpe student Sam Wheelhouse (Year 10) and his brother Joe, a former Wilsthorpe student. They will be competing in the local final of 'Battle of the Bands' at The Venue, Derby, on Saturday 14 June.

In January, two Year 8 students interviewed Wilsthorpe's new headteacher for the College web radio station, Wilsthorpe Sound.
